With SCDS, the bone laying over the superior semicircular canal of the inner ear is either <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hopkinsmedicine.org\/health\/conditions-and-diseases\/superior-canal-dehiscence-syndrome-scds\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">very thin or missing<\/a>, creating a &#8220;third window&#8221; and disrupting the internal processes of the ear.
